Bolton fundraiser to run 250 miles in two weeks for the Stroke Association

Fabrice Klein, 32, from Tonge Moor, is preparing to run 250 miles in just two weeks to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.

Fabrice, a Business Consultant, will kick start his gruelling challenge with the Canalathon Ultra-Marathon, clocking up a total of63 miles on Friday 24 March in Manchester, before completing a marathon every day from Monday 03 April until Sunday 09 April. His epic challenge will culminate in the Brighton Marathon, totalling 250 miles.

Fabrice was inspired to take on the fundraiser after his mother’s close friend Marion Tate passed away following a stroke in December 2016. He moved from Kent to Bolton 11 years ago, a distance of 250 miles, which was the inspiration behind his target.

Fabrice said: “I’ve always wanted to run to Kent since I moved to Bolton all those years ago, and this seemed like a great way of clocking up the miles. I’ve chosen to raise funds for the Stroke Association in Marion’s memory, to help others affected by this devastating condition to get the support they need.

“I’ve trained intensely for the last five years and currently run around 50-60 miles a week, along with weight training, so I’m hoping I’ll be well equipped to complete the challenge.”

Louise Lawless, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at the Stroke Association, said: ‘We’ll be cheering Fabrice on every step of the way as he takes on this extremely demanding challenge. With the help of people like Fabrice, the Stroke Association can continue to support stroke survivors and their families across the North West, and together we can conquer stroke.”
