Going…Going…Gone! BBC’s Nick Davies flogs antiques for stroke
The Stroke Association are hosting an antique valuation day on Wednesday 17 September with the help from Nick Davies of BBC Flog it! to raise vital funds for the charity.
Antique lovers are encouraged to make a beeline for the valuation day which will be held at the Life after Stroke Centre from 10am to 2pm. In the style of the much-loved BBC show, residents can dust off their antiques and bring them along to be valuated on the day.
Claire Benfield, regional fundraiser at Stroke Association in the West Midlands, said: “The valuation day promises to be quite an event. We are encouraging residents to come along, seek out those treasures from their homes, and let our team of valuers including Nick Davies, valuate them in the hope we can find a million, or even billion pound piece! Whether its artwork, watches or ornaments please do bring them along on the day. We are asking for a £1 donation per item, and there will be a limit of four items per person. It will be a fantastic way to do something a little bit special for charity - everyone taking part will be helping raise funds for stroke survivors, their families and carers.”
The event, which is in partnership with Fieldings Auctioneers, will include refreshments on the day. Nick Davies, auctioneer from BBC’s Flog it! said: “I’m thrilled to be invited to the Life after Stroke Centre in Bromsgrove to meet the community, and get to valuate the interesting antiques they have. Five years ago my father-in-law had a devastating stroke, so I know the impact stroke can have on someone’s life. I’m really happy to be supporting the Stroke Association who is there for stroke survivors and their families. Please do come along and bring your antiques, and I will look forward to valuating them!”
Suggested donation is £1 per item and there will be a limit of 4 items per person. For more information about the valuation day, you can call Claire Benfield on 01527 903 501.
