Leeds daredevils conquer first ever Stroke Association abseil

More than 60 daredevils took a leap of faith and took part in a 269ft abseil in Leeds this weekend, to raise vital funds for the Stroke Association.

Brave fundraisers abseiled down the third tallest building in Leeds, the CLV Building (formally Opal 3), on Saturday 28 March and raised more than £7,000 for the charity.

Jo Beverley, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association said: “This is the first abseil we’ve ever held in Leeds, so we were thrilled with the turnout and it was a great day for everyone involved.

“The new abseil is one of our most daring fundraising events and we’re really grateful to our fundraisers for choosing to support the Stroke Association.

“The funds raised through the abseil will help us to continue to offer vital services to stroke survivors and their families in the region.”

In Yorkshire and Humberside, there are more than 10,600 strokes per year and over 112,300 people living with the effects of stroke. Funds raised through the charity abseil will help the Stroke Association continue to offer vital support to stroke survivors and their families.
