The Stroke Association calls on runners to race at Silverstone
The Stroke Association is appealing to runners to help conquer stroke by joining the charity’s team at the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon on Sunday 13 March.
Each year thousands of runners take to the iconic Silverstone track to complete the half marathon at the home of Formula 1, and the charity is calling out for runners to join its team.
Debra Rawlings, Regional Fundraiser at the Stroke Association, said: “Taking part in the half marathon is a fun and inspiring experience, but there’s a serious purpose behind it; stroke is the leading cause of complex adult disability in the UK. At the Stroke Association, we want to be there for everyone affected by stroke, so please do join our team and help us raise the funds that could make this a reality.
“The Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon is a great event for runners of allabilities and there’s always a brilliant atmosphere. This will be the sixth year we’ve had a Stroke Association team running. To join us, we ask you to raise £250 and in return, we'll be with you every step of the way. You'll get an expert training plan, weekly emails with training and fundraising tips, a Stroke Association t-shirt and lots of help and support.”
