Apprenticeship Event Kicks Off at Rochdale Football Club

Young people are being offered the chance to score their dream career at the Rochdale Borough Apprenticeship Vacancy Event at Rochdale Football Club on Wednesday 5 March.

Kicking off between 4pm-7pm at The Ratcliffe Suite, anyone aged 16-24 can drop in and apply to join one of the hundreds of apprenticeship vacancies on offer as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Apprenticeships are available at Intermediate, Advanced and Higher (degree) level, covering a huge range of job roles and including industries such as retail, manufacturing, engineering and hair-dressing.

Cllr Donna Martin, Rochdale’s Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, said: “These apprenticeship vacancies give young people the opportunity to work for a real employer, earn a real salary and gain a real qualification whilst adding valuable workplace skills and experience to their CV.

“Apprenticeships are an incredibly useful way of earning a qualification up to degree-level and getting paid in the process, making it possible to avoid the £27K fees for attending university.”

The event at Rochdale Football Club is open to anyone aged 16-24 who will not be in full-time education this summer. It is also open to employers looking to recruit and to parents or carers who want to know more about the opportunities available.
