Cox Powertrain: Monaco Delivers for Cox Powertrain

The Monaco Yachts Show proved the perfect platform for British diesel innovator, Cox Powertrain, to showcase its game-changing new 300hp diesel outboard engine, the CXO300, to superyacht industry influencers ahead of its launch next year. Teaming with its new Italian and Monaco distributor, Cartello Srl for the first time at a Monaco Yacht Show, the Cox team received an exceptionally enthusiastic response from the industry.

The CXO300 is the highest power density diesel outboard engine ever developed. With petrol now not permitted on an increasing number of superyachts, the introduction of a viable diesel outboard that offers a comparable power and weight of a gasoline engine makes it a game-changer for the superyacht industry.

Commenting on the outcome of exhibiting at the 2017 show, Cox Powertrain’s Global Sales Director, Joel Reid said, “We returned an overwhelmingly positive feedback from all parties involved in the superyacht industry including captains, engineers, management companies, tender builders and owners. We have consistently received the message that to avoid the complexities of bunkering petrol, people want diesel but not stern drives, which are complicated to service and repair. We look forward to exhibiting again next year, where alongside a more prominent shore-side position, we will demonstrate the CXO300 on tenders in the water.”

Cartello’s Sales Manager, Alessandro Speziari said, “The Monaco Yacht Show enabled us to present the engine to our Italian dealers who are very much looking forward to becoming active partners of the Cox development in Italy and Monaco. The interest from Italian boat yards and tender manufacturers was very encouraging.”
