SkiStar Åre: Mega event in Åre on Easter Eve – world class athletes tempt with super show

Yet again in Åre, Jon Olsson Invitational runs parallel with JOI Big Air & Vattenfall Alpine Challenge by Olsson and Byggmark (VAC).

All the ski aficionados on site in Åre on Easter Eve can look forward to entertainment on a high level. The time has come for JOI Big Air and Vattenfall Alpine Challenge by Olsson and Byggmark in which freeride skiers and alpine world-class ski racers invite all the spectators to a great show. The combination of freestyle and alpine competitions is relatively new within the ski sport and an ideal opportunity to treat the spectators to one single mega event.

- The unique point with this event is that two so diverse cultures within the ski sport come together for one special occasion. This is well in accordance with Åre’s ambition of providing an arena for different disciplines within skiing, explains Catharina Utanskog, Event Manager SkiStar Åre.

The start lists in both events are quite impressive and include many names from the world’s utmost top lists. The list for the VAC features the FIS Slalom World Cup 2012 winner André Myhrer together with Kjetil Jansrud, Norway and German Felix Neureuter. In JOI, the athletes’ list includes world-class freeriders such as Bobby Brown, Russ Henshaw, PK Hunder and not least, last year’s winner Elias Ambühl.

- I am super stoked being on site in Åre again with a first-rate list of participants, says organizer Jon Olsson.

Schedule JOI:
6 April Qualification heats 19.00

7 April Finals 19.00

Schedule VAC:
