Time for Tennis....

Set within the 300 acre private estate, sits Stoke Park’s 13 multi-surfaced Tennis Courts, consisting of four floodlit artificial clay, three indoor carpet courts and six Wimbledon specification grass courts, ensuring the game can be played all year round. The tennis facilities offer something for everyone, from juniors, to Tennis and Health Members and Corporate Tennis Days, making it the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy the great game.

The Courts

With three different types of courts available, there’s something to suit everyone’s needs. The Artificial Clay Courts are open all year round due to their rapid draining characteristics, allowing play to commence in all weathers and at any time of day. Alternatively, the six grass courts, open between May and September weather permitting, are all completed to the Wimbledon specification, providing players with the best possible experience on grass during the summer months, set in the idyllic setting of the West Gardens.

The Indoor Courts also open all year round, offering players the latest in tennis technology with PlaySight’s, Smart Court System. This system is based on 3D visualisation technology, featuring the most advanced line calling, training analysis and debriefing capabilities in the world, with only one other tennis club in Europe with this system. Available to both Tennis and Health Members and hotel guests, training and playing on a Smart Court is more focused, effective and enables rapid improvement, maximising performance with its debriefing solutions.

How to get started

Registration is free, simple and fast at www.playsight.com

Non-Members and Members Junior Tennis Programme

Stoke Park’s Junior Tennis Programme offers kids from 4-17 years of age, the opportunity to develop their tennis skills through the LTA’s Mini Tennis Rating Scheme. Not only is this a great way for juniors to take their first steps into tennis, but offers more chances to compete against players of a similar standard. With the new season starting from the 1st April until the 31st August, the programme takes place after school and during term time, giving kids the chance to enhance their level of playing in a fun environment.

The programme starts with Mini Aces and Reds, for kids aged 4-6 years old, with sessions aimed at developing their ABC’s (Agility, Balance and Co-ordination) and speed, ball and racquet skills, whilst most importantly, having fun!

At Mini Orange level, the game is played on a slightly larger court with low compression balls which are not quite as hard as green/yellow balls, allowing for better control to help enhance the player’s technical development.

Next, Mini Green’s use a full sized court is used with a ball that is slightly lighter and softer than a full sized tennis ball, aiming to encourage longer rallies. Finally the last level is Yellow Teens aimed for children aged 11 years and older. Here, the game is played on a full sized court, with the net at full height, aiming to put any technical development from the mini development into practice.

For more information on any of our Tennis and Health Facilities, please contact Pavilion Reception on 01753 717173. Grass Courts are open at 11am each day between May and September. All-weather Courts are open daylight hours and Indoor Courts 8am until close.
