Press release -

New Executive Director of Income Generation for Stroke Association

The Stroke Association has appointed Andrew Cook as Executive Director of Income Generation. Andrew, who takes over from interim Director of Fundraising, Sam Hyde, joins the charity on 24 July, and will be based at their head office in London.

Andrew, who has over 25 years of experience in the charity sector, will oversee all the Stroke Association’s fundraising and commercial activity including digital fundraising, events, corporate giving, philanthropy and legacy development.

Juliet Bouverie Chief Executive of the Stroke Association said: “Andrew joins us at a very exciting time for the charity and as Director of Income Generation he will be at the forefront of our transformation. His leadership of a new five-year income generation strategy will ensure we can help more stroke survivors than ever before.

“Andrew has a wealth of experience from his roles at Charities Aid Foundation, WaterAid and most recently the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, which will be vital in helping ensure we are able to support the 1.2 million people across the UK living with the devastating impact of stroke.”

Andrew said: “The Stroke Association has a formidable record of success across service delivery and fundraising. However, the scale of the challenge presented by stroke is huge; it is the fourth biggest killer in the UK, and a leading cause disability. We can’t underestimate the challenge ahead.

“I am honoured to have the opportunity to develop the Stroke Association’s fundraising and increase public awareness of one of the biggest health challenges of our time so that together we can conquer stroke.”
