Three month Closure Order secured to prevent anti-social behaviour at a flat In Reigate.

Officers from the Reigate and Banstead Safer Neighbourhood Team assisted by Raven Housing Trust have secured a Full Closure Order for 29 Alexander Road in Reigate.

It was granted on Wednesday 28 August by Staines Magistrates Court and will be in place until 27 November.

The closure order granted under Section 80 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Disorder Act 2014 was sought after numerous reports of anti-social behaviour.

Borough Commander, Inspector Angie Austin said: “This sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour of any variety will not be tolerated in Reigate and we will work with partner agencies to ensure that we use all of our available powers to combat it.

‘I’d like to thank the local community for their support and bravery in coming forward to help my team to build a clear picture of what was happening on Alexander Road.

‘This closure order is positive news for other residents and their families in the area”.

Director of Customers and Partners at Raven Housing Trust, Amy Cheswick, said:

"This closure order is a successful result of tireless partnership work between the local community, Reigate & Banstead Safer Neighbourhood Team and Raven’s Tenancy Enforcement Team.

“Without the support of the local community, we would not have been able to take such decisive action against the perpetrators at this address.

“Where we can work together to gain evidence, we can effectively tackle anti-social behaviour, support victims and make communities safer places to live.

“This was a real team effort – well done to all involved”.
