Press release -
Archbishop visits Christians in China
From 4-14 November Church of Sweden Archbishop Anders Wejryd, together with a delegation (see below), will visit Hong Kong and mainland China. The visit is part of the exchange programme with the Protestant Church in China.
The visit of the delegation will include meeting Church leaders, visiting institutions in Shanghai and Nanjing and visiting local parishes and projects included in the development work of the Church, such as projects concerning HIV and AIDS. The host of the visit is the China Christian Council.
The purpose of the journey is to learn more about the rapid development of the Church in China – with strong growth and many challenges – as well as to intensify relations between the Churches, specifically ín the areas of theological education and social responsibility.
