Henrik Poulsen to step down as President and CEO of TDC A/S in order to become President and CEO of DONG Energy

Henrik Poulsen assumed the position as President and CEO of TDC in November 2008 and has since then contributed to its transformation into a strong company during a challenging economic period.

Vagn Sørensen, Chairman of TDC's Board of Directors states: "The board of directors wish Henrik the best of success with his coming position, and wish to acknowledge the strong contribution, he has made to TDC. In the midst of a global financial crisis and in a Danish telecom market characterised by head-on competition, TDC has during his leadership been successful in strengthening the performance of the company. He will hand over a company, which is acknowledged throughout Europe as one of the absolutely strongest telcos".

"TDC has in the last couple of years brought a strong suit of new and innovative products to market, and a significant growth has been achieved in the Nordic business market as well as within pay-tv. Through the acquisition of smaller companies such as Fullrate and Onfone TDC has been transformed into a multi brand group. The TDC group has also achieved strong progress in customer satisfaction as well as in productivity" continues Vagn Sørensen.

Henrik Poulsen explains: "I have decided to accept the position at DONG Energy because I consider this an uncommonly interesting challenge. DONG Energy is one of the leading companies within offshore wind power and assumes a central position in Denmark's transformation into green energy."

"However, I will miss my 10,000 colleagues within TDC and the strong engagement and competencies, which characterise the employees of TDC. TDC is a very strong company and the outlook for the company is good. Furthermore TDC has a senior management team with considerable strength and experience, and I am highly confident that TDC will continue to perform very well", Henrik Poulsen adds.

The Board of Directors of TDC will now initiate the search for a successor for Henrik Poulsen, a search which will include internal as well as external candidates.
