Jacob shares his enterprise story with Macedonian education ministry

Above, Jacob Hill with Radmil Polenakovik, the leading pioneer of enterprise in Macedonia.

Jacob Hill, 20, was flown out to Macedonia to work with education ministers, University deans and members of the chambers of commerce to build a brighter economic future for Macedonia, starting with education and enterprise. This follows from his recent success of sharing his enterprise story at the European Union in Brussels.

With Macedonia being one of the only countries in the world without an enterprise strategy, Jacob was called in to share his story after his successful speech at the European Union (14th Nov. here)

"it was a real honour being asked to guest speak for the European Training Foundation again, this time in a completely different country...

... I always cherish the opportunities to share my experience with others, not only does it get me out of my bedroom but it also helps me make a difference to the world in my own little way..."

Education ministers from all sectors met and listened to Jacob's story of how he started selling sweets at 14; moved on music events at 16 and suffered a tremendous £3,000 loss before paying off the debts and moving on to The Lazy Camper.

The second year student on the enterprise development course shared how the University of Huddersfield offers good practice when supporting entrepreneurs in an education environment. With support from the enterprise team, the business school and tutors, Jacob feels that many developing nations could learn from his University.

The young entrepreneur has also taken on the task of setting up a European network of young entrepreneurs to connect and work together online and offline.

"...As the Yorkshire Ambassador for Virgin Media Pioneers, I understand the importance of being able to meet other entrepreneurs, it can get lonely in this profession! I hope to use a similar model to the Virgin Media Pioneers for other like-minded people to connect all over Europe and possibly the world."

Work has already started on the network in Macedonia and with the full support of the European Training foundation, this will start to grow in other parts of the continent.

"I just can not wait to go back to Macedonia, hopefully every year, to watch and help it grow. I met so many strong people over there who are determined to make a success of their economy and I will give them my full support, even if I am hundreds of miles away."

Jacob will continue to work the ETF and share his story with many more governments...

More information on the event can be found from the ETF here.
