Young Entrepreneur bags £1000 and first place to start the new year.

Jacob Hill, 20, The Lazy Camper came first place in December's Shell LiveWIRE Competition winning the whopping £1000 cash prize as well as being entered in to the idea of the year award to win £10,000! 

This came after two prior unsuccessful attempts, it proved third time lucky for the young entrepreneur.

The Shell Livewire Grand Ideas award each month, award (up to) 4 prizes of £1,000 to young entrepreneurs with the most innovative business ideas. This could be an innovative product or an innovative business process, e.g. an unusual marketing campaign.

The Lazy Camper rallied votes off friends, family and supporters putting them in 5th place, the judges scores were then added up sending them to first place and being one of the 4 ideas awarded the much-welcomed cash prize of £1000.

The Lazy Camper's Managing Director, Jacob Hill, said:

"I am overjoyed to have won this month, it took some trying but we finally got there! I will keep encouraging course mates and other young entrepreneurs to enter the awards also...

...the cash flow of a business is it's lifeline and without awards and perks like this, I know this year would have been a lot harder...

...I just hope this is how the year will continue, it's a great way get things moving in 2013."

Every year, Shell LiveWIRE enters the winners of the monthly award for their 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award'. The Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award competition recognises and celebrates the achievements of the UK's finest young entrepreneurs and awards the winner £10,000 plus extra support.
