Alan and Irma at Stevenson were our 'Earth Angels'

"Nearly one year ago, The Sick Children's Trust came into our lives. Along with the charity came two of the most wonderful, kind, compassionate and welcoming people we could hope to meet - you guys, Alan & Irma.

During what was a very difficult time Irma was there for us and really helped us get through the first few days of our son Alexander's life. He was in the NICU and it was very daunting but knowing we had somewhere so lovely to stay while our son was recovering from surgery made things so much easier.

Since then, we have popped in whenever Alexander has been back to the Royal London for appointments. It was on one of these visits we met you, Alan. You, much like Irma, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we'd known you a long time!

We have needed to stay at Stevenson House again as Alexander needed more surgery. Xander being Xander, things didn't go to plan and he again ended up in intensive care. Alan, you were our rock. You helped and supported us in any way you could.

Any time we come to visit, you both always make us feel very welcome and it's so lovely just to catch up and have a coffee with you both.

We just wanted to let you know that, one year on, you still both have a very special place in our hearts and I know Xander will feel that way too. We really appreciate all you do and have done for us. You really are 'Earth Angels'. I really don't know how we'd have got through it without you."
