Ready, steady, go Grandad! 

Scott Bailey, 48, from Essex is preparing himself for London's most scenic half marathon in a bid to raise a huge £1000 for us after we supported his daughter, Sophie, in Stevenson House when her baby was born seriously ill. 

Darcie-Rae was treated at The Royal London and underwent two major operations in her first few months of life, Mum Sophie stayed at Stevenson House for four months. 

Scott wants to say thank you so is putting himself to the test on 11th October. The last time Scott ran any distance was when he was 18-years-old, running over eight miles from Southend to Benfleet. In 2006 he was advised to avoid running after undergoing a knee operation. 

But despite all this, Scott is up for the challenge and determined to complete the 13.1 miles.
