Press release -

Exceptional women in Business Lauren Pope to address Business Show

Many of the country’s most exciting entrepreneurs and business leaders are women, in recognition of the outstanding women in business, The 34th Business Show, held at Olympia, London on 3rd & 4th December, has invited exceptional female business leaders to speak and impart their wisdom to audiences attending this unprecedented free business event.

Women are playing a greater, more pivotal role and changing the face of British business for the better, but there is still much to be done to close the pay gap and afford women equal opportunities to succeed in business. The 34th Business Show will celebrate the diversity of women’s working lives by bringing together some exciting, entrepreneurial women from the world of business and beyond, educating and inspiring both men and women to live fuller lives and achieve more in their work.

The number of women on FTSE 100 boards has more than doubled since 2011 and the culture shift of women leaders in business has been significant, although this is an encouraging improvement, there are still huge disparities between men and women in the workplace to address. November 9th was Equal Pay Day, the day that women work for free for the remainder of the year when compared to their male counterparts, and a government report published last month set a new target for FTSE 100 firms to achieve 33% female board members by 2020 – there is still much ground to be covered. The Business Show provides a platform for those women leading the way in business to open doors and inspire others to follow in their trailblazing footsteps.

Invited to speak at The Business Show this year is Shaa Wasmund, founder of Smarta and champion of small business, who in the 2015 New Year Honours was awarded an MBE for services to business and entrepreneurship. Lauren Pope, the actress, model, DJ, star of TOWIE, and entrepreneur, launched her own hair products in 2007, Hair Rehab London, and is passionately pursuing her business endeavours.

Female Techpreneur, Nidhima Kohli the founder of Europe’s largest online marketplace for beauty products, My Beauty Matches, will share her insights into building a large online community without funding.

Emma Cox, Head of Product at Grabble, the fastest growing mobile fashion app in the UK, will walk the audience through the techniques she used to develop web and mobile products based on customer insight.

Svietlana Lavrentidi, founder and CEO of the European Women’s Network, will share insights from her journey creating the largest female meet up in Europe.

2014 Apprentice Runner Up, Women’s Fashion Visionary and personal branding expert, Bianca Miller, founded The Be Group on the premise that everyone should have access to services that enable them to market themselves for a better future. Award winning young entrepreneur, Julianne Ponan, CEO Director of Creative Nature, an exciting, new company striving to improve health and well-being by providing healthy, nutrient-rich superfood products will deliver a practical lesson to aspiring entrepreneurs hoping to have their products stocked on the shelves of major supermarkets.

These women and many more will reveal the lessons they have learned while making their way in the world of business and achieving great things. To attend this incredible event, book your free tickets at www.thebusinessshow.co.uk

About The Business Show

Over the last 15 years, The Business Show has become a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity, and in that time it has welcomed more people through its doors than any other business show in the UK. More than 25,000 delegates are expected to attend the next show at Olympia, London, 3rd and 4th December 2015. Today, the event is more ambitious than ever, determined to help drive businesses onwards and upwards, across all industries. Running alongside The Business Show this December will be: Going Global, Business Startup and Techpreneur.

About The Prysm Group

Prysm Group launched its first exhibition back in April 2000. The exhibition attracted so much interest from the wider business fraternity that a sister show was added to promote development and expansion for established businesses. 15 years on, The Great British Business Show is now the UK’s largest business event, running twice yearly and bringing huge numbers of exhibitors and visitors together. We are targeting a minimum of two launch events every six months, and growing the Business Show into a 100,000 square metre event within three years. Find out more at www.prysmgroup.co.uk
