Booming Contigo takes on two new staff and upgrades office space

Birmingham-based specialist energy software developer Contigo is bucking the current economic climate with the appointment of two new team members and a move to larger offices.

Michelle Morgan has joined Contigo as project manager, with David Pitt now an executive advisor to the Contigo board and member of the executive team.

Michelle, who has over 10 years’ experience in delivering software solutions, is joining Contigo to oversee its customer support management and the implementation of new customer systems.

David has over 30 years of experience in enterprise software applications and a track record of developing small application software companies through strong growth periods.

Simon Piercy, Managing Director, Contigo, said: “With his truly outstanding experience in this industry, David’s position as advisor to the board is a key strategic step in positioning Contigo as a leading business in the energy software sector.

“Michelle has a track record of implementing total business solutions to different business sectors, including service companies, councils, contract hire and daily rental businesses. Through the appointments of Michelle and David, and the transition to the new offices, we are ensuring that Contigo is 100 per cent fit for future growth and development.”

The appointments of Michelle and David follow a great year for Contigo, which has seen the company win a number of new contracts – including overseas energy providers in Ireland and France – and take on four new staff.

In order to meet the increased demand for space, Contigo has also moved into larger offices, with an increased seating capacity, greater floor space, enhanced meeting facilities and a dedicated visitors’ entrance.

Jon Yeomans, Director, Contigo, said: “We’ve increased our floor space by around 65 per cent, to meet the requirement that we’ve seen through the growth of the team, particularly over the last year, and to meet the new demands we are facing as a result of this success.  We now have three quiet rooms for web conferencing, a staff breakout and informal meeting area, and plenty of space for future growth.”

Contigo is quickly becoming the provider of choice for many energy companies, with 17 per cent of all UK-produced energy (14,035 MW) now generated using Contigo’s flagship enTrader product suite.

About Contigo
Contigo is the leading provider of energy trading, portfolio risk management (ETRM) solutions, and logistics supply chain management and emissions reporting software to the energy industry. Based in Solihull, in the UK, Contigo is a provider of choice for energy companies who seek expert knowledge and industry experience from their ETRM supplier.

Since launching its flagship enTrader Product Suite in 2009, Contigo’s customer base has grown rapidly to include many of the UK and Europe’s largest asset heavy, blue-chip power generators, utilities, brokers, financial institutions and retailers.  Within Contigo’s UK based client portfolio are four of the ‘Big Six’ utilities, including E.ON, RWE and Centrica.

The enTrader Product Suite has also expanded into the international market with clients such as Bord Gáis, one of Ireland’s largest utilities, and CNR, France’s second largest energy provider.   All of Contigo’s customers act as reference sites and provide case studies endorsing their installed products and experience of dealing with “Team Contigo”.

Alongside handling the purchase of £1 billion worth of fuel products each year, approximately 17 per cent of all UK generated energy – some 14,035MW - is now completed by power stations using the enTrader suite.  That’s enough energy for 16.1 million homes, or the same amount needed to power London or New York twice over. Contigo really is a key component in “keeping Europe’s lights on”.
