Virgin Trains Launches 800,000 Tickets Seat Sale  800,000 discounted tickets are up for grabs in three-day sale

Savvy travellers shopping around for spring holiday bargains can make the most of the Big Spring Seat Sale with Virgin Trains. From Tuesday March 1 to Thursday March 3, prices on 800,000 seats across First and standard class will be slashed on the rail operator’s West Coast Mainline.


Virgin Trains is offering bargain fares from as little as four pounds, for travel between March 18 and May 2, and customers can escape for less to visit family and friends or explore some of the UK’s great cities.


Discounted fares include the below Advance Single tickets:

  • London to Birmingham or Birmingham to London starting from £4
  • London to Liverpool or Liverpool to London starting from £10
  • London to Glasgow or Glasgow to London starting from £14

Discounted tickets will be available to book from 00:01 on March 1 at www.virgintrains.co.uk/saleand through the Virgin Trains mobile app, which lets you book train tickets and check timetables on your smartphone – anytime, anywhere.

  • Fares are available on selected first and standard class Virgin Trains services only on the
  • West Coast Mainline

  • Discounted fares available on virgintrains.com and the Virgin Trains app only
  • Promotional fares are available for booking between March 1 and 3 2016 inclusive
  • Promotional fares are available for travel between March 18 and May 2
  • 2016 inclusive

    • The last day of travel to/from Glasgow will be the 29 April due to engineering.

    Subject to availability on specific services, and requested journeys cannot be guaranteed.

    • Tickets are non-refundable, change of travel date and/or time is available up to the departure on payment of a £10 admin fee plus the difference of the new applicable fare
  • Other discounts including Railcards and Group discounts do not apply
  • Major improvement works are taking place during Easter (Friday 25 – Thursday 31 March); and May Bank Holiday (Saturday 30 April – Monday 2 May) on the West Coast Mainline:

    • March 25 – 28 2016, Birmingham New Street – Wolverhampton & Stafford – Crewe
    • March 29 – 30 2016, Birmingham New Street – Wolverhampton
    • April 30 – 2 May 2016, Crewe & Warrington and Crewe & Runcorn, North of Lancaster and Penrith
    • April 30 – 3 May 2016 Stafford & Crewe, Lockerbie and Carstairs

    On affected services, the overall journey time will be extended, as a result of diversions and rail replacement coaches.
