New luxury sailing experience

The launch last week of Loch Lomond Boating Holidays heralds the start of an exciting new opportunity for visitors to enjoy unique luxury cruising experiences on one of Scotland’s most spectacular and most popular waterways.

Officially launched on Thursday 28th April, Loch Lomond Boating Holidays enables the stunning attractions of Loch Lomond to be explored in supreme style and comfort by chartering a splendid Linssen Grand Sturdy motor cruiser.  Linssen is a market leader in the steel boat building sector and is renowned for its superior quality and product innovation.

The cruiser, ‘Aries’, which is based at Cameron House Marina, is a 36.9 foot vessel offering first-class facilities and accommodation, with two beautifully fitted en-suite cabins and a saloon finished in deluxe wooden panelling and leather upholstery. Charters can either be ‘bare boat’ - allowing guests to sail the vessel themselves - or with a hired skipper. 

Bare boat charters, which are available for three, four or seven days, enable guests to choose what to see and do from the wide host of options that Loch Lomond offers.  They can sail around the tranquil waters, exploring many of the island gems in the Loch Lomond crown, stop off at a selection of riparian pubs and hotels to sample quality local ales and fayre, enjoy a round of golf on one of the area’s world-renowned courses, or get close to nature spotting the area’s abundant flora and fauna or discovering its many lochside walks and cycle tracks.

Full-day or half-day skippered charters enable guests to leave the helm in the very capable hands of a local sailing expert who can guide them to some of Loch Lomond’s less accessible tranquil locations, perhaps to savour with a picnic hamper of fresh local produce or seafood. 

The launch of Loch Lomond Boating Holidays at Cameron House Hotel Marina was attended by a number of business owners and stakeholders from the tourism sector in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and the surrounding region. 

Officiating at the event was Dr Mike Cantlay OBE, whose six-year term as Chairman of VisitScotland recently ended.

    Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016

  • 2016 will shine a spotlight on Scotland’s achievements in innovation, architecture and design through a wide-ranging, variety of new and existing activity.
