Wales Co-operative Centre appoints Andrew Jones in new role

The Wales Co-operative Centre, the leading agency in Wales for co-operatives and social businesses, has appointed Andrew Jones as its new Business Development Manager.


Mr Jones joins the Wales Co-operative Centre from Collaborative Communities in Carmarthenshire, where he has been working as its Flagship Development Officer.

Business Development Manager is a new role for the Wales Co-operative Centre. Mr Jones will be tasked with supporting the growth of social businesses in Wales, promoting co-operative solutions to poverty and exclusion and diversifying the Wales Co-operative Centre’s income by establishing working relationships with the public sector.

Mr Jones has worked in a number of sectors directly relevant to the work of the Centre. He has experience in housing and regeneration as well as enterprise development. He will take up his new role in August.

Dave Brown is the Centre’s Director of Strategic Development & Performance. He commented,

“We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the Centre. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge on regeneration and development which will stand him in good stead for the challenges he will face. Andrew will be a huge asset to the Centre and his skills will help us to fulfill our strategic objectives over the next year”.

Mr Jones said,

“The Wales Co-operative Centre has a reputation as a leader in promoting and supporting social enterprises and co-operatives in Wales. I’m looking forward to supporting this work and developing new markets and new opportunities for the Centre.”
