Uppsala BIO in new premises

“It should feel even easier to drop by! This is the biggest benefit of our new premises right in the middle of Uppsala Science Park”, says Uppsala BIO CEO Erik Forsberg.

Situated on the main entrance floor, Uppsala BIO shares the premises – called Innovation Hub Uppsala – with STUNS, STUNS Energy, Uppsala Innovation Center (UIC), Uppsala University Innovation (UUI), UU Holding and SLU Holding. In other words, the main part of Uppsala’s innovation support system. Furthermore, the building also houses a new restaurant and conference room.

“That so many of us who support innovation and growth in the region continue to share premises strengthens our already close cooperation. Together we possess the skills that cover most of what is required in this field. We can respond quickly to different issues. Our decision-making paths are short and fast”.

“And that companies can easily get in contact with us is very important to Uppsala BIO”, emphasises Erik Forsberg.

“The fact that we now also have a presence in Uppsala Business Park through the Conextion project means that we create even more contact interfaces. We thus gain a better insight into understanding which initiatives best contribute to strengthening the region’s life science sector”.

The Hub’s upper floors comprise laboratories and offices leased by Region Uppsala. There’s even a strong life science profile in the rest of the building: Uppsala Clinical Research Center (UCR), Uppsala Biobank, Clinical Microbiology (KMB) and Clinical Training Center (KTC) are also taking advantage of the central location and modern facilities on offer.

“I hope that this move will help make Uppsala BIO more visible and welcoming. Not least, I look forward to more rewarding encounters at our new coffee machines”, concludes Erik Forsberg.
