Stanley-Bostitch Sets A New Standard For Brad Nailers When It Comes To User-Friendly Features

June 4, 2008 – NEW YORK, NY – Stanley-Bostitch announced today the introduction of its new brad nailer kit – the model BT1855K – for applications including shoe & cove molding, chair rail, cabinetry, furniture, and woodworking. Product Manager Mark Tadros said, “The new model BT1855K is engineered to help professionals achieve the level of craftsmanship they were always capable of doing.” According to Tadros, extensive field research identified the right features and durable characteristics that pros truly want. “We incorporated all of these key features into a specially-designed tool that receives high marks from pros and DIY’ers alike.”

Weighing only 2.7 pounds, the Stanley®-Bostitch® BT1855K accepts standard 18 gauge brad nails between 5/8˝ and 2-1/8˝ long. The tool’s weight and balance are complemented by an over-molded grip to help maximize comfort and minimize fatigue during overhead applications or prolonged use. The BT1855K’s oil-free design requires no regular maintenance, nor does it pose the risk of irreversible oil stains on expensive trim material. With a storage capacity of 100 brads, the magazine features a dry-fire lockout feature to prevent the driver blade from creating unsightly marks on stain-grade trim after the magazine empties its nail reserve.

The BT1855K features Dial-A-Depth® technology for setting nails to precise depths without adjusting compressor settings. The ultra-quiet rear exhaust, located at the end of the handle, directs air away from the user. Clearing jams is done in a flash thanks to tool-free access to the drive channel. A visual reload indicator monitors the nail count at a glance without opening the magazine.

The BT1855K offers a swivel air fitting for added maneuverability while an integrated filter protects the tool’s internal components from contaminants. Its selectable trigger system, located slightly above the trigger, converts from sequential to contact mode in just seconds. A reversible belt hook provides easy transportability with a special bonus … an integrated pencil sharpener for easy access when marking/scribing trim or molding.

The BT1855K brad nailer kit includes the basic tool, plastic carrying case, 1,000 brad nails, hex wrench, and operator’s manual. Available in January 2009, this unit is expected to retail for approximately $99.
