Press release -

Susanne Lindh appointed CEO of Nobelhuset AB

Today Susanne Lindh was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nobelhuset AB, the company entrusted with creating a Nobel Center in central Stockholm, Sweden.

Since 2009 Susanne has been Director of the City of Stockholm’s City Planning Administration, whose activities include strategic and physical planning for homes, workplaces, infrastructure and services. Susanne’s task has been to streamline the planning and construction process and to achieve a better construction environment in Stockholm.

Before this, Susanne worked for nearly a decade managing investment and project operations at the Swedish Road Administration as a divisional director in charge of infrastructure investments throughout the country and as a regional manager in Stockholm and elsewhere. In these roles, she was the client for major infrastructure projects and was responsible for financial and other follow-up. She also has several years of experience working at both the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Susanne holds the degree of M.Sc. in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.

“Earlier dreams of a Nobel Center are now on their way to becoming a reality on one of the most beautiful sites in Stockholm, the Blasieholmen peninsula. I am looking forward to participating in the creation of the new building in Blasieholmen and working together with others on its future contents. One initial task will be to take the winning proposal in the ongoing architectural competition through the planning process to implementation. The Nobel Prize trademark will be further strengthened by a popular and internationally acclaimed Nobel Center,” comments Susanne Lindh.

“We are pleased that we succeeded in recruiting Susanne Lindh. She has previously run major construction projects and has been in charge of city planning matters in Stockholm. This unique combination makes her highly suitable to be in charge of the Nobel Center task, aiming at inauguration in 2018. Together with the management of the Nobel Foundation, the Nobel Museum AB and Nobel Media AB, Susanne will help develop the Nobel Center into a centre for natural science, the humanities and peace issues in the spirit of the Nobel Prize,” says Lars Heikensten, who is Chairman of the Board of Nobelhuset AB and Executive Director of the Nobel Foundation.

Susanne Lindh will assume her new position no later than March 1, 2014.
