STANLEY® Kicks-Off Its 2015 Build Your America Contest Honoring 5 Hometown Heroes

New Britain, CT. (July 2015) — In July, STANLEY® will kick-off its 2015 Build Your 

America Contest awarding up to $10,000 to five winning hometown heroes for home improvement or repair projects completed by the House of Heroes. For the 2nd year in a row, STANLEY®, continues its involvement in the community and upholds its commitment to make tools that build America.

The Build Your America Contest affords STANLEY® the opportunity to give back while promoting the increasing number of hand tools made in the USA using global materials. In addition, everyday men and women are provided the chance to nominate a deserving U.S. military service person, civil safety servant*, their spouse, widow or widower who has made an impact on the community in which they live. (*law enforcement, fire and rescue, and/or emergency medical services (EMS))

STANLEY®’s partnership with House of Heroes complements STANLEY®’s core values and further demonstrates the company’s dedication to community service and generously making a difference. House of Heroes, a non-profit organization, assists active and retired military and public service veterans faced with physical and/or financial hardships by providing minor repairs and home improvements through volunteer work. The cultivating relationship with House of Heroes signifies STANLEY®’s continuous efforts to strive for excellence while promoting products built in the U.S.A. using materials from around the globe.

To enter the contest, entrants are asked to explain, in 500 words or less, why and how a hometown hero in their community deserves to be nominated. Five hometown heroes will be selected and awarded up to $10,000 each for the home repair or improvement project entered in the contest. The contest entry period runs from July 1, 2015 to December 1, 2015 and the winning projects will be completed in 2016 by the House of Heroes.
