Interview with Princess Madeleine before the wedding

On Saturday, June 8, H.R.H Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O'Neill will get married in the Royal Chapel at the Royal Palace. Here is an extract of the interview with princess Madeleine, published in Swedish at The Royal Court.

It is barely four months to the wedding in the Royal Chapel on 8 June. How is the planning evolving?- I can't believe that it is less than 4 months to go! Time flies when you're having fun. We plan on fully. All though I'm in New York working for Childhood the planning is progressing well. We are recieving tremendous help from home and great support of our families.

Mr Christopher O'Neill is both an American and a British citizen. Will you have best man and bridesmaides the brittish or american way?- Yes and no. Chris will have a best man at his side, but I will not have bridesmaids. Just like my mother and sister, I will have flower girls instead, it is a wedding tradition that I want to pass on.

Will the wedding be broadcasted on Swedish television?- We want to make our wedding as accessible as possible. But a definitive answer on how it will be is not quite clear yet.

Is the guest list ready?- Yes, we dare say that it is. Invitations will be sent out before 1 april so we have some time left. It has been a difficult process when you want to invite everyone but unfortunately it's not possible.

Has it been decided if there will be a morning or afternoon wedding?- We will have an afternoon wedding followed by dinner.

Where will the wedding dinner to be held?- Wedding dinner held out at Drottningholm Palace, which makes me very happy. Drottningholm Palace means a lot to me because I was born and grew up there.
