​Eurovision in your neighbourhood

When Stockholm hosts the Eurovision Song Contest it will be evident throughout the city. Behind the vignette ”Eurovision - in your neighbourhood” the City of Stockholm will arrange activities at different locations in the greater Stockholm area. The events include "Swedish Fika", "Eurovision-swim" and Samba soccer. The events will take place between May 8th to 14th.

- Eurovision Song Contest is an event characterized by openness, acceptance and equality. We will be celebrating this throughout Stockholm and in its suburbs. In addition to the competition at the Globe, the festivities in Eurovision Village in Kungsträdgården and on Skeppsbron we will be organizing activities in Högdalen/Rågsved, Skärholmen, Husby/Kista, Vällingby och Farsta, says Karin Wanngård (s), Mayor of Stockholm.

The event will kick-off with "New Swedish Fika" on Sunday 8th of May 15-17. The city will offer pastries from selected parts of the world in the following locations:

  • Farsta Gård, Farsta
  • Kista Träff, Kista
  • Nya Rågsveds Folkets Hus, Rågsved
  • Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, Skärholmen
  • Medborgarhuset Trappan, Vällingby
  • During the following week, ongoing local activities named "Come together", which is also the tag-line for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, will take place. The activities are initiated and implemented by local organizers with the support of the City. The events include everything from face painting and quizzes to karaoke contests and concerts by local artists.

    The festivities end on Saturday, May 14th with a "Eurovision-swim" with DJ:s in Skärholmen, Vällingby and Farsta swimming pools and Samba soccer at selected locations in cooperation with local football clubs.

    The events are organized by the City of Stockholm in the context of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016.
