Guest nights: Stockholm’s hospitality industry reached a peak for the year in June

The number of overnight stays in Stockholm continued to rise in June. In Stockholm County, over 1.2 million guest nights at commercial accommodation facilities were registered, which was an increase of 6 percent compared with the same month in 2014. June is thus the month with the most overnight stays in Stockholm so far this year, according to statistics from Statistics Sweden and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.

In the month of June, international overnight stays increased by 11 percent in Stockholm County, compared with the same period in 2014. Domestic overnight stays increased by 3 percent. Foreign visitors came primarily from Germany, but Swedes accounted for the absolute highest percentage of guest nights. In June, domestic guest nights in the capital city amounted to over 723,000, corresponding to 60 percent of the total number of overnight stays that month.
