IFAF World Championship Stockholm 2015

Starting on July 4 2015 SAFF (Swedish American football federation) will welcome the world to enjoy the 5th IFAF World Championship which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. During 14 days there will a memorable tournament with 12 nations competing from 6 different continents. A total of 24 games will determine who will be the World champion in American style Football. All games will be played at the newly constructed Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, with a capacity of 30.000 spectators.

- The vision of the IFAF World championship Stockholm2015 is: “A world class championship that delivers joy, competition, experiences and a greater sustainable community before, during and after the event“, says Andreas Ekman, Communication Director from the Stockholm2015 Local organizing committee. - We are excited to show the international and national audiences, top class football in our country, continues Ekman. - It will boost not only awareness and knowledge about the game of football, but also Stockholm as a great city for events.

Organizers are the Swedish American football federation, SAFF, in close co-operation with the City of Stockholm and Stockholm Globe Arenas, SGA, who operates the stadium “Tele2 Arena”. SGA is an AEG company, one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment presenters.

Hosting the World Championships in American football, is a great opportunity to broadening the sports and entertainment offerings in the city while attracting international attention. - Events at our stadiums have great positive effects on employment and growth in Stockholm, says Sten Nordin, the mayor of Stockholm.
