Record: 13 million guest nights in Stockholm in 2015

Stockholm continues to be the engine behind the Swedish tourism industry. In 2015 Stockholm reached a new record with close to 13 million nights! This is an increase of 1.2 million guest nights, ie about 10 percent in comparison with the previous year. These are preliminary figures from Stockholm Visitors Board. The corresponding increase for Sweden in total is a 7 percent increase.

With 11.8 million guest nights last year, we are strengthening our position as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe

It is also positive with a steady growth from key volume markets such as Germany and the UK, says ms Karin Wanngård, Mayor of Stockholm

1 million guest nights in Stockholm in November

November show the same strong trend throughout the year. During the month there were over 1 million overnight stays, which is an increase of 7 percent compared with the same month last year. Foreign guest nights rose 22 percent where most nights came from Britain, followed by Norway, USA, Germany and Finland.
