Online Yoga Studio Yoogaia.com unites animal lovers across the world on World Animal Day

Is your cat or dog staring at you whilst you practice yoga? An affectionate furry friend might bother you normally during your yoga practice, but on 4th October it’s okay. Online yoga studio Yoogaia is organizing a pet yoga class called ‘Furry Friend Yoga’ to honor World Animal Day on October 4th and invites animal lovers across the world to take part.

‘Furry Friend Yoga is a relaxed class suitable for everyone and their animal. You can do the poses even if your dog or cat is running around’, promises yoga instructor Paula Solano, who will be taking the class along with her border terrier Malva, who is extremely affectionate and promises to entertain throughout.

‘Everyone at Yoogaia loves animals and during the live classes you often see pets joining their owners. Some of them will just observe while others are jumping or stretching next to the owners’, Solano laughs. She adds ‘A pet can also be a good source of inspiration for a yogi as cats and dogs spend a considerable amount of time stretching compared to their owners’.

Solano advices you to prepare for the pet yoga class and any yoga class in general according to what your pet is like. ‘If there is a lot of movement in the class, it might be easier to tell your pet to stay in his own spot as one of you might get hurt. During floor poses it doesn’t matter that much if your pet is by your side’.

Yoogaia will run a “Furry Friend Yoga” class on Sunday October 4th at 12 pm (London time) on www.yoogaia.com. The instructors will be Paula Solano and Border Terrier Malva.
