Driving efficiency through digitalization: Addovation is the Nordic region’s long-term IT partner
Addovation AS improves and modernizes companies’ ERP systems – always with a long-term perspective and solutions tailored to each individual customer.
The IT company Addovation AS helps organizations in the service, industrial, energy, and manufacturing sectors with digital transformation and the modernization of business systems. Through the implementation and further development of ERP solutions, the company contributes to more efficient work processes and better use of data within organizations.
Addovation was founded in 2008 in Asker by Per Inge Sævareid and Kenneth Smith, both of whom had backgrounds at the ERP development company IFS. The goal was to develop solutions that could build on the ERP platform, while also offering services in implementation, integration, and consulting.
Today, Addovation works with companies across the Nordic region and has grown into a significant provider of consulting and integration services within modern business systems.
Long-term customer relationships
“Our core business is helping customers implement and manage business and backend systems that handle areas such as finance, supply chain, HR, project management, and maintenance. We also work extensively with integrations, for example machine data from production, which is an important part of the digitalization many organizations are currently undergoing,” says Andreas Ehrengren, Presales Architect Manager at Addovation.
Ehrengren is based in Linköping, Sweden, and has worked at the company for five years. He primarily works as a solution architect with IFS Cloud™, a Nordic ERP system developed in Linköping and tailored for industrial companies.
A central part of Addovation’s work is precisely IFS Cloud, an ERP system developed in the Nordic region and designed for industries such as manufacturing. Addovation assists customers with both implementing the platform and adding complementary solutions that expand its functionality.
Through the Addovation Engage service, the company works closely with customers over time to ensure they gain maximum value from the ERP platform.
“When we enter into partnerships with customers, it’s not about a short-term project. We aim to be a long-term partner, and many of our collaborations span five to ten years. This also allows us to understand our customers’ industries and develop solutions that support their long-term goals,” says Ehrengren.
Addovation has traditionally had its strongest presence in Norway and Sweden, but is now focusing on strengthening its presence across the entire Nordic region. Demand for modern ERP systems is increasing as more companies look to digitalize and streamline their operations.
In 2016, the company acquired parts of IFS’s consulting business in Sweden, which strengthened its expertise and focus on ERP implementation. Since then, Addovation has also expanded its service offering to include integration services, operations, and product configuration.
“Many companies still operate with outdated systems that are not adapted to today’s requirements. At the same time, a lot is happening in new technology, not least artificial intelligence. If companies do not modernize their systems, they risk missing out on major opportunities in the future,” says Ehrengren.
Digitalization is largely about streamlining processes and creating better visibility over a company’s data. For many organizations, this also means consolidating multiple systems into a single unified platform. Addovation therefore sees strong potential for further development in the years ahead.
The company’s ambition is to strengthen its position as a technology partner for Nordic businesses while helping customers take better advantage of new digital opportunities. With a growing focus on digitalization across industries, the future looks bright for the company, which plans continued growth and an increasingly broad service offering for businesses across the Nordic region.
Deep industry expertise
Marketing & Communication Manager Sigrid Marie Saastad has worked at Addovation since 2012. She confirms that the company has extensive experience and strong industry expertise, something that particularly benefits Nordic customers.
“One of the reasons we have such a strong reputation is that we have a large number of experts at Addovation. Our competence is unique,” says Saastad, adding:
“We have, among others, a strong partnership with the customer Orkla House Care, which is a good example of a company that fits well with our Nordic profile. Orkla House Care works with renovation products and has brands in Norway, Sweden, and the UK, as well as production and distribution in several countries. We implemented IFS with the goal of modernizing their business platform to enable further digitalization.”
Customers like Orkla House Care illustrate how even well-established international companies can face significant digital fragmentation. When the company began its transformation journey, each location operated with its own local IT systems without shared digital processes or collaboration across countries. When operations also depend on strong control over distribution and inventory history, it becomes essential to review systems and bring them together into a single integrated platform.
“A lot comes down to driving efficiency through digitalization,” Ehrengren emphasizes. “When we visit potential customers, we often see that there is still considerable room for improvement. It is surprising how many companies still rely on legacy systems that have not been updated for years. At the same time, developments in areas like AI are accelerating, and if companies are not properly prepared, they risk missing out on important opportunities in the future,” he says, encouraging businesses to contact Addovation for advice.
