MidEast carriers post fourth straight month of double-digit growth

ARABIAN BUSINESS: Middle East carriers posted the strongest passenger traffic demand growth in the world during November at 11.7 percent, according to new figures released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). November was the fourth consecutive month of double-digit year-over-year growth and the region’s economies are comparatively well-placed to withstand plunging oil revenues, IATA said in a statement. It added that capacity rose by 13.9 percent during the month and load factor fell 1.4 percent to 70.1 percent. Globally, IATA said there was a continuation of the healthy demand trend of recent months in November.
