Statues to release "Ending The Holocene" single from upcoming album

Swedish alternative rock band Statues is back with a new single, entitled "Ending The Holocene". Released together with a music video on August 7, the single is the second one from the band's upcoming album "Holocene", out via Lövely Records this Autumn. Combining sweet melodies and dirty sounding riffs with 90's esthetics, "Ending The Holocene" is the go-to anthem for those who want a trip down the memory lane while exploring something new and fresh.

90’s Alternative Rock was never anything else then great pop-songs filtered through screaming guitars. The Swedish based power trio Statues can be filed under your typical SST band. Simple, impulsive, eccentric, and just wonderful. The band, who released their debut album "Adult Lobotomy" in 2018 through German Crazysane Records, has teamed up with Lövely Records for the release of their upcoming full-length "Holocene". In June, Statues gave us the first taste of the record with the intense and bittersweet alt. rock single "The Salt". They are now back with the second single from the album, an energetic and dirty sounding cut entitled "Ending The Holocene", released together with a music video.

Magnus Öberg from the band explains the single:

"Ending The Holocene reflects on the fast-paced development of technology and its initial doom, while hinting at the Hindenburg disaster and the movie Metropolis. Expect classic "feel-good" vibes and belief in the better future, as usual with our songs."

"Ending The Holocene" will be released together with a music video on August 7. The full length "Holocene" is out on vinyl and digital format October 30 on Lövely Records.
