Press release —
aquatherm honoured for exemplary commitment to resource conservation
aquatherm has been awarded the "resources SAVED 2025" certificate by Interzero Circular Solutions Germany GmbH. The cooperation between aquatherm and Interzero – including the take-back and recycling of recyclable materials such as plastics, cardboard and wood – has demonstrated measurable benefits for the environment and climate.
In 2025, aquatherm was able to save 192 tonnes of primary resources. These are raw materials that would otherwise have to be extracted from nature, such as crude oil, ores and wood. In addition, 30,963 kilograms (≈ 31 tonnes) of greenhouse gas emissions were avoided. This corresponds to around 240,000 kilometres driven by an average passenger car (≈ 130 g CO₂/km) – equivalent to driving around the world by car approximately six times.
"The award of the 'resources SAVED 2025' certificate is an important recognition of our commitment to responsible resource use," says Maik Rosenberg, Managing Director of aquatherm GmbH. "The transparent evaluations help us to continuously review and further develop our processes. In this way, we make our contribution to climate and resource protection measurable – and show that we are part of the solution."
Putting the circular economy into practice
Through Interzero's organised take-back and recycling system for transport and commercial packaging, aquatherm and its customers benefit from a convenient disposal solution. Typical materials that are collected and recycled include disposable and reusable pallets, stretch and shrink film, strapping, large cardboard boxes and outer packaging, as well as wooden and foam protective packaging. Depending on the material and its quality, the collected packaging is primarily recycled and, where this is not possible, recovered for energy generation.
On this basis, Interzero calculates the annual savings in primary resources and greenhouse gas emissions and presents them transparently through the "resources SAVED" certificate.
The evaluations provided by Interzero are an important tool for aquatherm in systematically assessing its own use of resource use and environmental performance. Based on these findings, the company identifies measures for further optimisation – for example, reducing packaging materials or increasing recycling rates.
