Press release -
ARMEDANGELS emission-free? Not yet. Climate Neutral? Definitely!
Every company causes CO2 emissions, no matter how sustainably and economically it operates. ARMEDANGELS now produces 263 tons of CO2 per year, a figure that is very good by comparison*, but one they do not rest on:
- Short transport routes due to production sites in Europe
- No shipment of goods via air freight, but exclusively DHL GoGreen
- Conversion of office, warehouse, and provision of the online store to 100% renewable energies
- Business trips only by train, air travel only in essential exceptional cases
The mission is clear: To further merge climate protection and textile production, which involves several steps: Firstly, recording emissions in order to then continuously reduce and avoid them. Secondly, to offset all unavoidable emissions through a climate protection project. This is how ARMEDANGELS has become climate neutral. By the way, also retroactively for 2019.
Climate neutrality is a huge plus for the planet. Nevertheless, it is about reducing the carbon footprint further. ARMEDANGELS is continuously working to make the equation even more ecological.

To be more specific: this is how ARMEDANGELS has become climate neutral
In cooperation with ClimatePartner, ARMEDANGELS compensates unavoidable CO2 emissions through a biomass project in India. As part of this, harvest waste is used in a biogas plant to generate energy. On the one hand, this creates renewable energy for local needs and, on the other hand, provides local communities with a second source of income, as their crop waste becomes a valuable resource. A win-win situation! And absolutely fitting for ARMEDANGELS, since the organic cotton comes from India!
*ARMEDANGELS knows its footprint and now achieves a CO2 intensity of approx. 7.5t CO2 per 1 million € turnover. That is about 2/3 less than many other conventionally working fashion companies.

ABOUT ARMEDANGELS
Since 2007 the Cologne label ARMEDANGELS has been proving that fashion can also be done differently: ECO & FAIR. No wage slavery, no chemical madness, no cheap mass goods. From the simple idea of printing on T-shirts and collecting donations for charity projects through sales, a company has grown that today is one of the largest ECO & FAIR fashion labels in Europe. With a 90-person team and four collections a year, ARMEDANGELS shows that sustainability and good product design are not mutually exclusive.
