ARMEDANGELS launches limited edition t-shirt in a fight against the injustice of fast fashion

The awareness week for sustainable fashion, Fashion Revolution Week, is coming up (18-24 April). To give this the attention it deserves, the German fair fashion brand ARMEDANGELS is launching a limited edition t-shirt made of 100% organic cotton for the fifth year in a row. All proceeds will go to The National Garment Workers Federation in Bangladesh. Will you stand up with ARMEDANGELS for more justice in the fashion industry?

No sustainable fashion without attention for textile workers

Fashion is an industry that focuses on beauty, but its consequences are also some of the ugliest - and nobody is held responsible.

During Fashion Revolution Week, we commemorate the horrific factory collapse on 24 April 2013 around the Rana Plaza building in Bangladesh. More than 1,100 garment workers were killed when the 8 floor of the Rana Plaza factory collapsed, even more were injured. In 2022, workers are still treated unjustly, bent over sewing machines in unhygienic and dangerous conditions. This is the price of fast fashion.

Taking action really makes a difference

But it does not have to be this way. ARMEDANGELS swears that fashion should never be at the expense of people. They know their suppliers. Every garment is made in conditions where workers are safe and paid above the legal minimum wage. Join their revolution and be part of the solution so that a Rana Plaza disaster never happens again. Dare to question fast fashion, inform yourself and consume consciously.

Join the revolution

This year, the German fair fashion pioneer redesigned their Fashion Revolution tee, with a reference to the real price of fast fashion. For the fifth year in a row, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to NGWF, The National Garment Workers Federation. This organisation supports textile workers by taking legal action against poor pay and unjustified dismissal and is actively working for more women's rights in Bangladesh.

How to make a direct (positive) impact

Last year ARMEDANGELS collected no less than €25,000 for the NGWF. Over the years this has resulted in more than € 430,000 in compensation for textile workers. And that is not all:

  • 216 workers got their jobs back
  • 352 workers received the benefits of training
  • 413 workers received compensation
  • 751 ongoing court cases

"Human rights for garment workers!"  -Mr Moyri, 28

Mst Moyri had to resign from the factory to take care of her parents. Instead of earned leave and severance pay, she was treated as an expendable part in the garment production machine. With the help of NGWF and Legal Aid, Moyri was able to pay for the treatment her parents so desperately needed. She is now back at work.

Practical info

The t-shirts will only be for sale online, via armedangels.com from 18 to 24 April, and will be sold for € 39,90.
