ARMEDANGELS appoints first Impact & Innovation Director

Katya Kruk is now responsible for planning and implementing ARMEDANGELS’ global sustainability strategy. She is taking the lead in strategically developing and driving innovations at the fair fashion company. Kruk will lead the Impact & Innovation team, which consists of experts in the areas of social and environmental impact. The team was created during the enormous growth of the fair fashion brand.

Katya Kruk about her responsible role at ARMEDANGELS: "In these challenging times for our planet i am grateful for the chance to join forces with an amazing team of like-minded experts. I aim to co-create and hope to witness a leading-the-way king of strategy coming to life for the Armed Angels and the consumers that want to make sustainable choices.”

Starting with an annual Christmas tree protest, Katya Kruk's enthusiasm and interest in sustainability and environmental change already began as a child.

After receiving the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship, Kruk completed her Master of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California. The hands-on master's program in the U.S. was the perfect complement to her highly theoretical bachelor's degree in Russia.

She began her career at Sphera (formerly Thinkstep/ PE International) in Stuttgart, where she spent seven years as a consultant supervising more than 100 projects for a wide variety of cross-industry companies, focusing on LCA (life cycle assessment) and setting up individual sustainability strategies.

Next, Kruk was responsible for innovation and material analyses at Adidas for more than four years. Her tasks included life cycle assessments, data-based sustainability strategies, and process innovations.

With her extensive experience and holistic expertise in the field of sustainability, Katya Kruk is now looking forward to new challenges at the sustainability pioneer ARMEDANGELS.

ABOUT ARMEDANGELS

Since 2007 the Cologne label ARMEDANGELS has been proving that fashion can also be done differently: ECO & FAIR. No wage slavery, no chemical madness, no cheap mass goods. From the simple idea of printing on T-shirts and collecting donations for charity projects through sales, a company has grown that today is one of the largest ECO & FAIR fashion labels in Europe. With a 90-person team and four collections a year, ARMEDANGELS shows that sustainability and good product design are not mutually exclusive.
