Digitus presents new solar cables for sustainable home projects and professional applications

Climate change and the global quest for greater sustainability are increasingly placing the use of renewable energy in the social and political spotlight. To facilitate access to green energy for both private households and professional installers, Digitus, the Assmann Group brand, has now expanded its range to include extension and installation cables for photovoltaic systems and other solar projects. The new solar cables have been designed to meet the highest requirements in solar systems - for outdoor use as well as for complex installations as part of home projects or professional system solutions.

With the solar obligation for new buildings, roof renovations and commercial properties already in force in several federal states since 2025 and further legal requirements looming for 2026, the pressure on building owners, companies and public bodies to significantly accelerate the expansion of photovoltaic systems is growing. This is precisely where the particularly weather-resistant, easy-to-install and safe solar cables from Digitus come in:

The new extension cableshave been specially developed for use in photovoltaic systems - for example balcony power plants. They are equipped with pre-assembled MC4 connectors that enable quick, tool-free connection to solar modules, inverters and other components. Thanks to their flexible cable design, they can be laid effortlessly even in tight radii. The flame-retardant cable sheath in accordance with UL94 V-0 offers increased safety in the event of fire. The cables are also certified in accordance with CE, EN 50618, EN 60332-1-2 (Eca) and EN 62852:2015 and are therefore approved for international use. They are also ideally suited for permanent outdoor use: Weather resistance and durability make them a reliable component of any solar installation. The cables are available in lengths of 1, 3, 5, 10 and 15 metres and with a conductor cross-section of 4 or 6 mm² - with a dielectric strength of up to 1500 V DC.

The Digitus range is complemented by new installation cables, which are an ideal connection solution for photovoltaic systems and solar systems. Thanks to tinned copper conductors, they ensure optimum conductivity and excellent corrosion protection. The combination of XLPO insulation and a resistant jacket makes these cables particularly resistant to weathering and UV radiation. This is a decisive advantage for long-term outdoor installations. They are flexible enough for easy installation, which makes both professional applications and home projects much easier. The temperature resistance of -40°C to +90°C ensures reliability even under extreme conditions. In addition, the flame-retardant design complies with the EN 50618:2014 standard, contributing to overall system safety. The installation cables are available in lengths of 20 and 50 metres and with a diameter of 6 mm². They support both DC voltages up to 1500 V and AC voltages up to 1 kV.
