Bank Norwegian hires students and help build future talents

In the middle of August, we welcomed 8 students which will help us providing even better customer service and new perspectives. Hiring students with updated knowledge across academic fields benefits us in many ways.

Avid learners help us improve our business

As we were gearing up to meet our plans for growth before the summer, we searched for part time employees and encouraged students to apply. We received more than 100 applications from many interesting and talented people.

Tone Johannessen, Head of Customer service, and Cathrine Rydén, responsible for quality and communication at customer service, have worked closely with the students the past weeks.

- By employing students part time, we are both benefiting from updated knowledge within several fields, and we hope to help them build a career at Bank Norwegian, says Johannessen. Some have prior experience from working with customers. Those who have not quickly learn how to, Rydén elaborates.

Taking part in an including culture at Bank Norwegian

- Thanks to including and sociable colleagues, I already feel settled in. I have experienced a culture that appreciate support across departments, which has been very insightful to us students.
So far, I’ve had a steep learning curve and had the possibility to solve challenges at my own pace, says Ruben Curio.

The students help us see other perspectives

- The students help us to see what we do with different eyes, and they quickly see how things work and potential places for improvement. Some have proposed ideas and templates for improving on current solutions, says Rydén.

Going forward, we want the newcomers contribute across teams and departments as they progress in their field of study and profession, Johannessen says.
