Press release -

Henrik Stangel to Be New CEO for Dagens Industri

On Nov. 1, Henrik Stangel will become the new CEO for Swedish business daily Dagens industri. He succeeds Casten Almqvist, who becomes the CEO of TV4 on Jan. 1, 2012. Also on Nov. 1, Gunilla Herlitz assumes the post of board chair for Dagens industri.

In the fall, Dagens industri will get a new CEO when Dagens Nyheter's Henrik Stangel takes over the position. At the same time Gunilla Herlitz will take over as board chair from outgoing Jonas Bonnier.

"The model with Peter Fellman as editor-in-chief and Casten Almqvist as CEO has been very successful for Dagens industri," says Jonas Bonnier, the current board chair for Dagens industri. "Since the record results of 2010 with a profit of over SEK 200 million, I believe that Peter and Henrik have the strong potential to further develop the paper and the business."

"I look forward with a great deal of enthusiasm and humility to working with all the talented employees of Dagens industri," says Stangel. "It will be exciting to work together with Peter Fellman to develop the paper, not to mention the business."

Stangel is currently the advertising director for Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter, and before that was the sales director for Sweden's national mail service Posten. He has previously held senior positions at Carlsberg and at the international private educational company EF.  As new CEO, he will also have overall strategic responsibility for advertising sales for Dagens Nyheter, Dagens industri and Sydsvenskan.

At Dagens Nyheter, Henrik Stangel will be succeeded by Dan Morén, currently the CEO for Citypaketet, an advertising cooperation of Dagens Nyheter, Göteborgs-Posten and Sydsvenskan.
