BookBeat develops its French catalogue by signing distribution agreements with Lizzie and Pottermore

BookBeat, one of Europe’s leading streaming services for audiobooks, is strengthening its French catalogue by entering an agreement with France’s second-largest publishing group, Editis and Lizzie – its audiobook brand- as well as with Pottermore, digital publisher of the multi-million bestselling Harry Potter series.

Lizzie will add nearly 1000 French audiobooks to BookBeat’s library. This agreement will significantly improve and broaden the library by adding best-selling authors and award-winning titles.

“We are so happy to make Editis’s audiobooks available for our French users. This is an extensive and well produced catalogue with many popular titles from major authors. Our users will be delighted to listen to audiobooks from authors such as Colleen Hoover, Franck Thilliez and Michel Bussi.” says William Jakoby, Chief Business Development Officer at BookBeat

"We're delighted with this new partnership with Bookbeat, a European player sensitive to the specificities of the French market, who will be keen to defend our authors and the richness of the Lizzie catalog; and so, work together to develop the uses of audio books in France" says Liza Faja CEO of Lizzie

The agreement with Pottermore will allow BookBeat users to discover the wizarding world in audio. This will be a great addition to BookBeat’s catalogue allowing the service to please the many French Harry Potter fans.

“The Harry Potter books are best-sellers in all the markets we operate, and we have no doubt it will be similar on the French market. It will help us to attract new users as well as satisfying our current users. It is therefore a great opportunity for us to distribute it on our service.”, says William Jakoby.

“As the global digital audiobook and eBook publisher of J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter series our goal is to try and ensure each generation of readers and listeners discovers their magic. We are glad to be working with Bookbeat to help fans, old and new, experience the French recordings.” says Jennie McCann, Managing Director of Pottermore Publishing.

In the next months, BookBeat will keep developing its French catalogue to offer the best experience possible to its users and keep helping the development of the French market.

“Our aim is to work closely with all publishers to offer an attractive and diverse catalogue to our users. We think France has potential to become a leading market for Audiobooks, and we look forward to contributing to its growth over the years to come”, concludes William Jakoby.
