Boråstapeter introduces A Vintage Book – a declaration of love to nostalgic poetry
Vive la vie en rose! The new wallpaper collection from Boråstapeter is a perfect blend of bohemian, vintage style characteristics. It will touch the heart of anyone who is drawn to decorating with a romantic, nostalgic and slightly worn touch. All of the patterns are inspired by a French, provincial style and interpreted through Scandinavian eyes.
Designer Ulrica Hurtig at Boråstapeter found her inspiration in a book of patterns from Alsace in France, dated in 1845. The collection features Toile de Jouy, pastel spots, harlequin squares, lace patterns, handwritten notes on worn surfaces as well as hand painted cherry blossoms and roses. The collection also consists of poetic, decorative and picturesque digital prints, some of them with a linen structure.
– These are wallpapers that inspire you to bring out your most beloved memorabilia, antiques and let your love for the nostalgic and poetic take over your home, says designer Ulrica Hurtig. I’ve tried to maintain the authentic expressions of the patterns especially in regards to their picturesque, aged charm and patina. Aged printing effects as well as block printing add character and a genuine expression to the patterns – a kind of aged charm, concludes Ulrica Hurtig.
The multi-coloured expressions in the collection range from cream, beige and chocolate tones to porcelain blue, indigo and turquoise. Nuances in Gustavian grey are a focal point next to powdery mint green pastels and pink hues.
A Vintage Book is available in stores from November 11 and features a total of 43 prints.
