Cottage Garden – Romantic Wallpaper from the English Countryside

Boråstapeter is launching its new collection, Cottage Garden. Inspired by the homes of the English countryside, this is a wallpaper collection that combines a classic Swedish interior design style with a cosy, romantic feel. Influenced by the British masterpieces of Jane Austen and Virginia Woolf, they create a warm, artistic and poetic atmosphere.

Cottage Garden is a collection of cleverly designed wallpapers created in a muted colour palette with some slightly bolder alternatives. Hand-painted floral patterns lend a rich and lively atmosphere to rooms, with some coming in a light watercolour while others have patterned fabric for a more rustic feel. There are also options such as the classic tweed or chalk-style wall which emit a calming feel into the air. Cottage Garden is a collection with personality that is made to be loved.

“We are seeing a new lifestyle emerge that is rural, cosy and intimate. Where traditional values are an inspiration and give us the impetus to slow down. It’s an interior design style where wallpaper is at the centre of what we do,” says Ulrica Hurtig, Senior Designer at Boråstapeter.

Ulrica explains further, “In this collection, we have been swept away to a quaint cottage in the English Cotswolds, gliding from room to room, feeling at one. We venture out into the charming garden and look over the rolling landscape, taking in all the sights, colours and sounds. All this has inspired a palpable, expertly crafted wallpaper in both expression and colour.”

Cottage Garden is available in stores from the beginning of April. The wallpapers are made in Boråstapeter’s own factory in the textile city of Borås, where sustainability is in focus. Production is completely without hazardous substances and with the least possible environmental impact. All paints are water-based and paper is sourced from sustainable forestry in Northern Europe.
