Timeless Traditions – Celebrating traditional Swedish craft and design
Boråstapeter launches a carefully colour-coordinated collection of stylish patterns in traditional styles. Timeless wallpapers that fill rooms with character and rustic charm.
The wallpapers in the Timeless Traditions collection take us through time and capture the rural feeling we love. Designed for today's modern homes, both in the country and in the city, they take inspiration from traditional 20thcentury designs.
Searching through our archive, we selected and carefully renewed beloved patterns. These patterns exemplify our Swedish design heritage, from ornate flowers beautifully painted on porcelain to homely woven upholstery and rustic ceramics. With this, we have created wallpaper which creates a cosy and decorative harmony. Airy neatness in thin lines and an extra glimmer of beauty from gold detailing. Patterns which are classically stylish yet with a lovely touch of flair.
“With this collection, you can decorate your entire home with wallpaper. Patterns are based on our Swedish heritage and traditions, as well as patterns from our rich archive. We believe fine rooms, where there is space for abundant elegance, are on their way back into homes”,says Ulrica Hurtig, Senior Designer, Boråstapeter.
The patterns in Timeless Traditions are gathered around four colour themes. This makes them easy to combine and create a beautiful whole through the home. There are pastels and blooming colours for a warm, romantic feeling. Or rustic green, blue and brown shades which capture the essence of nature. Or choose classic blue-white porcelain, where the misty blue offers nostalgic and calming essence. To create a quiet yet vibrant home, the neutral and white versions are timelessly beautiful.
Timeless Traditions will be launched in stores and online in mid-January. The wallpapers are made at Borås Tapetfabrik in the textile city of Borås, where sustainability is in focus. Production is completely without hazardous substances and with the least possible environmental impact. All the paints used are water-based and paper is sourced from sustainable forestry in Northern Europe.
