    Four works of art, in particular, helped ensure an evening of excitement, as Bruun Rasmussen began the second week of this summer's Live Auction with the sale of modern art.

  • Rolex Gentleman’s wristwatch made of steel. Model Master GMT ''Gilt'' (1966). Estimate: DKK 100,000-150,000.

    Rolex Watch from the Vietnam War

    A sought-after Rolex which a military backstory will be sold at this summer's Live Auction. The model in question is a model GMT Master that has been worn by the helicopter pilot Captain Ernest D. Sprinkel during the Vietnam War in 1967.

  • Admiral Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu’s golden bowls were both gifts from King Rama V of Siam. Estimate: DKK 150,000-200,000 and 400,000-500,000, respectively.

    Two fantastic golden bowls tell the story of the Dane, who ended up becoming the King of Siam’s confidential advisor and close friend. At the summer’s Live Auction in Copenhagen, Bruun Rasmussen looks to the Far East with a large number of Asian art objects from Scandinavian collections.

    Cubist Work up for Auction in Copenhagen

    The highlight of this summer's auction at Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen is a magnificent painting by Henri Hayden from 1920 and entitled "Bretonne". With the painting’s multi-perspective it can rightly be called pure cubist and musical in its style. The painting originates from the artist's relatively short cubist period between 1915 to 1922.

  • Lund, penny without year (approx. 1091-1095), Hbg. 4, coin maker Easmun, 0.82 g, reverse double struck, but a unique, beautiful and complete example. Estimate: DKK 120,000-140,000 / € 16,000-18,500.

    Coins minted under the reign of Oluf Hunger are among the most legendary rarities within Danish numismatics. But on Tuesday 7 May at Bruun Rasmussen’s auction for coins, medals and paper money in Copenhagen, the highlight will be just such a coin.

    Thursday's design auction had buyers from all over the world bidding on especially Finn Juhl’s furniture. A dining room set with Juhl's "Egyptian Chairs" and a "Judas Table" delivered the biggest surprise with a hammer price of DKK 770,000 (€ 134,000 including buyer’s premium) and DKK 250,000 (€ 44,000 including buyer’s premium) respectively.

    The historic saleroom in Copenhagen was filled to the brim as Bruun Rasmussen on a rainy Tuesday auctioned off modern paintings, sculptures and photographic art. A depiction of the Pueblo people's Harvest Dance caused the most excitement of the evening as a new world record rang through the saleroom.

    Danish Contemporary Art up for Auction

    Allan Otte, Cathrine Raben Davidsen and Trine Søndergaard – Danish contemporary art is gaining ground on the international market these years. When Bruun Rasmussen holds the year's first Live Auction of modern art and Scandinavian design, it will include a large number of works by some of the most significant Danish artists at the moment.
