  • The First-ever Rubies from Greenland Up for Auction

    When the year's first international auction at Brunn Rasmussen in Copenhagen takes place at the end of February, Greenlandic rubies will be up for auction for the first time in history. The rubies come from the Aappaluttoq mine south of Nuuk and are part of the impressive jewellery set "La Nina".

  • A Grand Price for a Very Small Bowl

    The year's largest international auction at Bruun Rasmussen ended this past Thursday after two weeks of intense bidding wars in Bredgade, Copenhagen. After the dust had settled, 12 million-kroner hammer prices and several world records had been achieved. As usual, the auction ended with modern design, where 23 six-figure sales were realised, which is quite exceptional.

  • World Record: Le Corbusier sold for DKK 2.05 million

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art in Copenhagen continue to achieve new auction records. Tuesday afternoon, two enamel paintings by Le Corbusier were sold for DKK 2.05 million and DKK 1.9 million respectively. A work by the Italian avant-garde artist Piero Manzoni was also sold at the auction for a price of DKK 1.3 million.

  • Asian Collectors Spend Millions on Treasured Memorabilia

    The sale of two small soapstone seals, measuring just 6 and 7 cm in height, went through the roof at the Asian auction in Copenhagen Wednesday afternoon. The price reached DKK 1.1 million (€ 190,000 including buyer’s premium) before the hammer fell, which was more than a hundred times the valuation price of DKK 10,000.

  • The World's Most Sought-after Wines Sold at a Danish Record Price

    On Sunday afternoon, Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen sold a case of magnum bottles from the world-renowned French Domaine de la Romanée Conti for a hammer price of DKK 290,000 (€ 50,000 including buyer’s premium), which is a Danish record.

    The Swiss-born artist Le Corbusier collaborated with the Danish architect Jørn Utzon on the interior decoration of the Sydney Opera House. Now two of the artist's outstanding enamel paintings from the Utzon collection will come under the hammer at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen on 5th December.

  • Auction record: DKK 1.4 million for a Bundle of Chinese Banknotes

    Auction history was achieved at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen Tuesday afternoon when a bundle of Chinese notes from 1854 was sold for DKK 1.4 million (€ 245,000 including buyer’s premium). This is the highest hammer price ever achieved at a coin auction in Denmark.

  • Star-studded Rolex Estimated at DKK 1.5 Million

    The most expensive Rolex watch in the history of Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers in Copenhagen will be up for auction on 30 November. The watch is a rare star-studded "Stilline" wristwatch from 1953, which is estimated at DKK 1.2-1.5 million. Included in the auction is also the world's most sought-after sports watch "Nautilus 3700" from Patek Philippe, which is estimated at DKK 350,000-400,000.

  • Piero Manzoni up for Auction in Denmark

    An extremely rare "Achrome" piece by Piero Manzoni from 1961 will be exhibited in London from 5-8 November and will be up for auction at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen on 5 December 2017. The work was made during the artist's stay in Denmark and has not previously been for sale.

  • Finn Juhl’s Personal Favourite Sold for DKK 610,000

    The evening's prestigious "Nordic Masters" design auction in Copenhagen became a true tribute to Finn Juhl since the auction’s top 3 were all designed by the world-famous architect. The highest hammer price was achieved by the architect’s own favourite – the extremely rare “FJ 44” armchair, which was sold for DKK 610,000 (€ 107,000 including buyer’s premium).
