    World Record: Le Corbusier sold for DKK 2.05 million

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art in Copenhagen continue to achieve new auction records. Tuesday afternoon, two enamel paintings by Le Corbusier were sold for DKK 2.05 million and DKK 1.9 million respectively. A work by the Italian avant-garde artist Piero Manzoni was also sold at the auction for a price of DKK 1.3 million.

    The Final Enamels by Corbusier from Utzon’s Private Collection

    The Swiss-born artist Le Corbusier collaborated with the Danish architect Jørn Utzon on the interior decoration of the Sydney Opera House. Now two of the artist's outstanding enamel paintings from the Utzon collection will come under the hammer at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen on 5th December.

    Utzon's Favourite Work by Le Corbusier Sets New World Record

    Tuesday evening the enamel "20 heures, arrivée à Chandigarh" by Swiss-French architect and artist Le Corbusier achieved an impressive hammer price of DKK 1.75 million (€ 234,000 including buyer’s premium), which is a doubling of the previous world record for an enamel by Le Corbusier set in Zurich in July 2016.

    Rare Enamel by Le Corbusier from Utzon’s Art Collection

    Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers is pleased to announce that another important work by Le Corbusier from the private collection of the world-famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon will be auctioned off in the beginning of December. The work was made while Utzon and Corbusier collaborated on the interior of the Sydney Opera House during the 1950s.
