Every lot at an auction carries a story—and sometimes it is precisely that story that makes the work priceless. At Bruun Rasmussen’s Live Auction on 19–20 November, provenance is in focus, featuring works by, among others, Vilhelm Lundstrøm and Finn Juhl, where ownership and heritage become part of the artwork’s narrative.
On 19 November, Bruun Rasmussen presents a modern art auction featuring a rare work by CoBrA artist Constant: La femme terrible from 1949. The painting was created after Constant’s wife left him for Asger Jorn, reflecting grief, anger, and artistic renewal. An early testament to the CoBrA movement’s force and Constant’s unique ability to transform life into art.
Hammershøi’s early works Job (1887) and Standing Woman (1893) showcase his experimental approach to form and his depiction of the existential conditions of human life. The live auction at Bruun Rasmussen in Lyngby will take place on October 30 – viewing from October 23–29.

A valuable work of art by the Japanese avant-garde artist Atsuko Tanaka is set to go under the hammer at the Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen on 7 March with an estimate of DKK 4–6 million.
