New BSH plant in Egypt marks milestone for future growth in the African market

  • BSH opens state-of-the-art factory in Cairo

Munich, June 30, 2025 (BSH) – BSH Home Appliances Group, Europe's leading manufacturer of home appliances, is proud to announce the opening of its state-of-the-art factory in Cairo, Egypt. This facility is the company's first production site on the African continent and represents a significant investment in the Egyptian market and the region.


The inauguration ceremony on June 28, 2025, is an important milestone and underscores the home appliance manufacturer's ambition to shape markets worldwide. The plant in 10th of Ramadan City has been built to demanding sustainability criteria and features state-of-the-art production facilities and working conditions.

With a total investment of around 50 million euros, the BSH plant in Cairo will create around 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region. BSH is thus underlining its commitment to combining German engineering with local talent and expertise to produce high-quality products for the specific needs of consumers in the region.

The factory has an annual production capacity of around 350,000 appliances. The 90-centimeter-wide gas-powered range cookers are produced for the local Egyptian market as well as for export to other markets in Africa and the Middle East.

Rudolf Klötscher, Chief Sales and Service Officer and member of the BSH Executive Board, commented: “With our first factory on the African continent, we are underlining our growth targets in the region. Egypt and the regional markets offer enormous potential and play an important strategic role for us. With our long-term investment, we are helping to promote the local economy and create skilled jobs in the region.”
